As you configure Eloqua to manage all your marketing efforts, the Eloqua database becomes one single repository for critical information. Consequently, you need to ensure that this information is protected against unauthorized access, modification, and deletion. Simultaneously, you must ensure that this data is available to authorized users when necessary. Imagine your company has distinct product lines. Eloqua allows you to ensure that marketers of Product A can only see and send to Contacts who are interested in Product A. This is possible through Contact Level Security.
Eloqua also provides granularity in what your users can access in the application. Suppose you are in charge of Data Cleansing: your user needs access to Program Builder, however, your field marketer who is in charge of all tradeshow communications does not need access to this area. Security Groups can be configured to limit access to features within Eloqua.
