How do you handle multi-select list field?

Scenario:

A multi-select list field from the CRM need to be sync back to Eloqua.

The problems now are:

1.  It has a longggg list of options (changing the actual values on CRM to shorter character might not be a solution)

2. Eloqua doesn't allow multi-select list to be a large text (correct me if I am wrong)

3. It is a 2 way integration, means salesperson can add/change value from the CRM and contacts can add/change value by submitting a form (having different values between Eloqua and CRM is a no no... i guess..)

Any suggestion on how to manage this field?
